empty caption in Bridge?

as photographer work lightroom , photoshop/bridge. load pictures directly external hard drive, process pictures in lightroom fill in caption. when open them in bridge, can read caption.

 

recently had work on macbook, because imac send reparation. i've got , see when connect external hard drive imac , in bridge want read caption of pictures on hard drive, caption totally empty! when plug hard drive @ macbook again, , use bridge on macbook, caption filled in. what's going wrong?

do have warning on update metadate in lr? might need re-import metadata file in lr.
