Trouble Using Custom Date Format

our team building .pdf forms double hand-filled print forms. date fields on forms appear follows:

numerical date of written month, numerical year.

so example, might filled out as:

11 of june, 2017.

for month, using settings in screen below:

however when attempt type valid month name field, throws following error:

using format mmm produce abbreviated month (e.g. nov, oct, etc.) not work. numerical custom formats dd do work.

what getting wrong?

does approach work day , year?

does day entry validate number of days in month or assumes months have 31 days?

it appears pdf form feature wants see month, day, , year or optionally include time values of @ leas hours , minutes.

why not use drop down 12 months or use validation tab valid entered data valid.

are validating entered values verify valid date?

we not want "29 of february 2017".
