How do I make contact sheets with captions using Lightroom?

for years i've been using program called image buddy make contact sheets on every photo has different caption. (they're individual photos of students in particular class @ university teach; captions students' names.) image buddy had quirks, willing put them because did needed do. i've bought new macbook pro macos sierra on it, image buddy no longer work, , can't find trace of kepmad systems, company produced it.

 

so i'm trying figure out how make contact sheets lightroom 6. understand how select student photos need, switch print module, , choose number of rows , columns need. far, good. how assign each photo individual caption moves photo if rearrange photos? don't want use students' names names of photos, "file name" option under "photo info" doesn't me. "date," "equipment," "exposure," , "sequence" not want, , "custom text" seems assign same customizable caption every photo on sheet. remaining options "caption" , "title." how these differ, , how can use them put each student's name below or photo on contact sheet?

 

and 1 more question while i've got attention: when print out contact sheet information below each photo—be date, exposure, or else—that caption seems go mid-way between photo above , photo below it. want caption closer photo above photo below it's crystal clear photo each caption belongs to. way that?

p. s. google search has led me program called contactpage pro 6 badia software. looks might want do, it's us$60, , that's more feel paying such specialized tool. (image buddy us$19, recall.) have other suggestions if can't lightroom job me?

you write caption in library's metadata panel.

 

then in print, choose photo info in page panel. can't choose positioned - layout panel's cell settings can though.
