Is there a "paste in selection" function that doesn't have a popup window?

i edit audio books, popup window mix paste makes extremely slow.

the usual process replace empty parts in between sentences/words clean room tone; have thousands of times per book.

i have made macro "mix paste", closes window (enter) , presses play (spacebar), still quite slow.

if knows solution they'd of great help

well, 1 thing might want try doing editing in multitrack view.  allows break track as want (without permanent changes) , if drag in short piece of room atmos need it.  if overlap clips in same track automatic crossfade.

 

it seemed counterintuitive @ first when started working way once got used it, work flow sped considerably.
