Problems transfering files from Photoshop 13 to Lightroom CC

i've been user of photoshop 13 several years , switched photoshop (ps) & lightroom (lr) cc bundle through adobe.  trying transfer pictures lr on new computer (dell inspiron 15 7569) installed ps & lr on last week.  copied files external hard drive first , did "copy dng" new computer.  after copy completed computer converted files dng.   checked, , in ps & lr cc latest rev.   have been capturing in raw couple years of files transferred j-pegs. 

 

my issue whenever open picture on new computer blurry until plug external drive in info not copying through.  noticed tag, notes, or rating info not copied new computer. 

i noticed under file can press ctrl+w "write catalog data files".  should have done first?  there potential problem this?

i thought saw somewhere evening should use "upgrade" load new files lr don't recall saw it. 

 

i'm thinking of deleting new files new lr, connecting patch cord eliminate external hard drive, clicking ctrl+w write catalog info files, , trying transfer files upgrade option if can figure out saw it, , convert dng. 

 

i have "lightroom cc , photoshop cc photographers classroom in book" adobe looking further also. 

 

i want highest quality files new lr can.

how import photos photoshop elements, other lightroom catalogs, or apps such iphoto in lightroom

 

you not import photos.
