Help? Color and Font Style Output Problems to PDF
framemaker 2015 version 13.0.2.433
windows 10 pro version 1607
i have new fm manual based on tried , true template. changes standard template include migration open sans primary font (to match ui software manual covers) , frame , text fill colors match company logo.
when use save pdf function, color output fine, there no bold or italics applied text in document. these text effects applied individual character styles each.
when use print pdf or print file , generate final pdf in distiller (using same job options i've used), italics , bold fonts fine, colors way off on blue headings , filled frame boxes. note: used same color values in color definitions heading , fills used in company logo file (in header), blue drastically off. logo cmyk , have values. used same values create custom color definition font/frame fills.
image of page attached. generated pdf , saved .png upload here. heading 2 @ top of page, , chapter name in blue box in margin, should match blue in nucleushealth logo.
again, when save pdf, colors fine, no bold or italics (called bolded , obliqued in open sans font).
you've got appear 2 separate problems here; font issue, , perpetual fm color management issue.
working fm , cmyk on windows platform exceedingly tricky.
.
trying rgb , cmyk colors match each other @ final client (press, web, monitor, convenience print) impossible. can search forum on "color rgb cmyk gdi" (framemaker results only) eyeful.
what did when had match pantone branding colors to:
- figure named or cmyk color in srgb space
- use rgb primaries
- make sure other objects needed match used same rgb primaries
if images need match, can set pdf gen workflow tag images srgb iec61966-2.1
if text needs match, resist tagging "everything", , leave unmanaged rgb, otherwise images profiles/transforms, text won't.
be cautious vintage of pantone-provided srgb mappings.
if of colors out of gamut srgb,
.
