Help with InDesign Tables • How to limit the number of characters in a cell?

i'm placing huge excel file indesign table.  1 of columns contains descriptive text tends excessive @ times.  there text fit in box , text wraps around next line.

 

is there way automatically limit number of characters in cell , add "..." if description exceeds set number of characters?

 

example:

 

instead of...

no, there not such function in indesign. in ms excel truncate content of cell , import that.

make sheet in excel text functionality each cell has draw values other 1 automatically, truncate in sheet , import indesign.

shape alpha vs layer alpha in cc library

i noticed bug or unfortunate flaw or isn't supported yet. set layer percentage of transparency if shapes overlap in layer not make dark line in overlap , faster set layer , make shapes rather make shapes , edit transparency after making each shape.   for reason shapes don't work when going illustrator photoshop, after effects or animator. reason settings layer transparency ignored shadows come out solid colors. yet if remove transparency setting on layer , re-add shape works fine.   this not big of deal normally, have thousands of graphics transparency on layer huge amount of work try , utilize them via cc library. i think 1 feature request form: illustrator feature request/bug report form More discussions in Illustrator adobe

Photoshop CC 2017 - Ruler Tool - Error 8007...

hello,   just after installed latest version , update (cc 2017), used ruler tool when clicked on [straighten layer], photoshop said "could not transform because initial bounding rectangle empty."   so, clicked on [ok] button , then...photoshop said: "error... error 8007:user cancelled operation line:222 ->     layerref.rotate( angle * 180.0 / math.pi );"   here screenshot: https://s22.postimg.org/rttfh7mwf/photoshop_error8007.png   i don't think kind of error users me, developers. so yes, apparently...there error in script, guys...         p.s : update (cc 2017) is a real disaster on windows 10 professional 64bits because after update, couldn't open, create file or open document anymore! when tried close photoshop, illustrator or program, still running in background weird reason! (task manager) i stuck , couldn't work clients!!! so, needed uninstall , reinstall everything from scratch , including creative cloud! hell goi...
