Unable to consistently convert highlighted text into a hyperlink

this has annoyed me such long time.  had hoped else had noticed , report bug, hasn't happened.

 

i upgraded latest version of dreamweaver cc 2017, bug covered below still there.

(i have feeling problem related dreamweaver not being able cope large text buffer, , gets 'confused'.)

ok, let me explain before ramble on...

 

so first works after first opening dreamweaver , creating hyperlinks.

 

1. the method use is: select/highlight title, title inside of <li></li> tags, such <li>my new link</li>
2. then in dreamweaver menu select: insert > hyperlink.

 

in new window opens expect inside 'text' field: 'my new link' show up, occassionally it's strangely portion of text , would, make matters worse have kinds of other text on either side of source code.  other times trying yield no content inside field @ all

now, if left , clicked ok whole area of code garbled, or in scenario b unchanged

if tried again on second or third attempt fine again.

 

it's erratic!

 

i have problem frustrates me if not more dreamweaver crashing when update library item , item gets updated on over 100 pages.  dreamweaver can't cope , crashes.

 

i'm adding here because maybe problems inter-related??

 

• can else reproduce problem @ all?
• has got solution how fix?
• or bug dreamweaver should into?
• if bug, best way issue fixed, soon?

either revert cc 2015 until adobe fixes of bugs in 2017 or instead of using inset menu, use property inspector link box turn selected text hyperlink. pi has more direct link code.
