My version of Acrobat has regressed from 8.1.3 to 8.0. Why?

i've been using acrobat 8 years now; has worked fine, if have changed os @ least 3 times on past 6 years. have windows 10.

 

today tried open pdf file internet, , strangely received message telling me version of adobe acrobat needed updated. when checked properties of program, discovered version 8.0, whereas last time had checked version 8.1.3. tried repairing program, told adobepdf.dll file missing. have downloaded , placed in adobe folder, makes no difference. cannot update program.

 

does know why version of acrobat has gone 8.0, , how can fix short of doing full reinstall?

Adobe InDesign CC 2017 has stopped working

after installing indesign cc 2017 first time, when try launch application error "adobe indesign cc 2017 has stopped working" i have tried following: uninstalling , reinstalling indesign deleting files c:\users\<user>\appdata\roaming\adobe\indesign , c:\users\<user>\appdata\local\adobe\indesign i've uninstalled (i think) fonts had downloaded , installed restarted computer many times signed out of creative cloud , signed in   i able install , run on different computer i'm assuming there sort of conflict or missing component on computer.   computer details: processor intel core i7-4770k ram 16 gb os windows 10 pro ver. 1607 build: 14393.447 video card nvidia geforce gtx 970     this error windows event logs: faulting application name: indesign.exe, version: 12.0.0.81, time stamp: 0x57f545c7 faulting module name: appframework.rpln, version: 12.0.0.81, time stamp: 0x57f547eb exception code: 0xc0000005 fault offset: 0x000000000009fa88 faulting process id: 0xcac...
