Linked Footage From Premiere Pro Not Tracking in After Effects?

hi there,

there clip in premiere pro cc 2017 project wish track in after effects, however, when replace clip after effects composition can't seem track clip want. ( tracker option faded out) means have click composition , go through raw footage of clip (which can 20 minutes long) find 5-second clip wish track!

 

is there way track linked footage without having dig through raw file?

double-click on footage in composition. load raw footage file layer panel (note: not composition panel though they're in same place). footage should have in , out points set match in , out points in composition (if doesn't trim footage ends of comp). tracking should easy here on out
