Preview/Rendering Colours Different - Colour Management

firstly, specs: programs date of 23/11/2016

ae 2017.0 release - version 14.0.1.5

 

mac running os x el capitan - version 10.11.6

 

secondly, have used after effects time , have noticed effect mildly before never been big deal. however, maybe project specific, colouring between illustrator, after effects preview , final render (whether through after effects or ame) substantially different.

 

 

on left have rgb illustrator file, on right ae preview , @ top outputted .mov file.

 

i've tried rendering h.264 , various other presets no avail. i've been doing lot of background reading before posting can't find definitive answer.

 

a) want able import illustrator file , visually matched on screen in after effects

b) want colours of preview match output file - there codec/format guarantee it

 

i've tried assigning colour profiles when import illustrator files box greyed out. i've used 'colour management' tab in 'output module settings' , toggled preserve rgb no difference. once again 'output profile' dropdown greyed out.

well, color manage illustrator? calibrate monitor? believe, say, that's wheels fell off cart. definite impression you're not doing of , alas:

b) want colours of preview match output file - there codec/format guarantee it

if employing proper cm, there no issue @ all, long you're not using any, no format on teh world can save you. , of course if maintain proper cm on system, may still crooked on other systems. that's nature of thing - it's or nothing. there no "just tiny bit pregnant" here. once cm used, have use everywhere. otherwise have live these limitations , hope close standard srgb possible, give or take specific things gamma changes in codecs.
