open links in new browser window or tab?

hello - i've been researching , find recommendation add/edit javascript action
app.launchurl("http://www.mycompany.com/hyperlinkurl.com", true);

 

but - how & add pdf??    tool use?  can point me step-by-step instructions?

i use adobe acrobat , can't figure out how edit pdf urls add javascript when pdf viewed in browser , user clicks on hyperlink within pdf, link opens in new tab or window.

- select "add or edit link" tool

- draw box of link want create

- in window opens select display properties , action select "custom link", , click next

- under link properties window, switch actions , add "run javascript" action.

- paste code window opens , click ok, , ok, , you're done.
