Lightroom Import Issue - Continuing, new information
i've been having impossible import issues video files in lightroom months now. upgraded today el capitan sierra os on macbook. thought try importing video again hoping work not optimistic.
well.....this happened.
i selected video files i've been wanting import months (400 clips) , sat watch fail.
i noted when started seeing actual thumbnails video clips prior starting import. haven't seen thumbnails video in awhile. didn't think of though.
all of sudden video clips started importing......and importing actually. when got 50 files stopped dead in it's tracks.
i unable continue import , had cancel it. 50 files imported though.
i once again able import single file. dynamic link server failures or "no photos or video found import" errors.
so frustrating. and......there no thumbnails when go import. "preview unavailable file". wondering if somehow related.
grrr...
i have mac.....so can't ctrl + alt + delete. looked dynamic link server process using activity monitor on mac.
using combination of these steps , not being entirely ones helping able import .mov files. jury still out on .mp4 video files.
1. have had folder called "import lightroom sometime" 300 video files (.mov , .mp4) in it.
2. moved of video files new folder called "add lightroom 2".
3. copied 10 of video files "import lightroom sometime" folder.
4. make sure lightroom not running.
5. killed 2 processes had dynamic link server in activity monitor.
6. started lightroom.
7. start import dialog.
8. if don't start seeing thumbnail previews of video files in folder want import folder import not going work.
9. wait until of video files showing preview thumbnail before clicking import box. sign me 'things healthy , there shot @ working'.
10. if don't start importing cancel because know experience not going work.
11. if things have become unstable / unhealthy combination of force quitting 2 dynamic link processes in activity monitor , force quitting , relaunching lightroom again.
12. i've experimented between 10 , 30 files importing. gradually increasing number each time make sure it's still working.
13. import i'm doing move 1 folder on lacie external 4tb drive master folder lightroom on same drive called "photos - lightroom" imported automatic date folders.
14. i've attempted import of 114 files make work harder , it's working. oh yes!
15. figure out why doesn't .mp4 files......
