DWG Import Error

i've run problem when importing dwg illustrator.

 

the dwg in question detailed portion of coastline seen below.

 

i've checked , triple checked in 3ds max, rhino , autocad singular enclosed path points welded , no missing edges. when importing .dwg illustrator error below.

 

 

it seems when illustrator drawing path gets stuck on point, gives , draws straight line first point. i've checked problem point in question it's same every other point , if delete it, problem gets passed onto it's nearest neighbor. rest of path imported

separate path below problem path.

 

if simplify original path in 3ds max, results in loss detail, , export again import correctly.

 

i delete straight segment , merge 2 paths together. band aid on singular problem, i'm after solution 1 of many layers need import. 

 

i've exported multiple formats (ai, dwg, dxf) multiple software packages (cad, 3ds max, rhino) , more or less same error. running latest illustrator 2017.

 

any or ideas appreciated.

paths in ai have limit on number of anchor points. there nothing unusual here. object complex. need slize suitable sections/ areas.
