Why does Lightroom become unbearably slow over time?
ok, few months ago, sick of lightroom being slow on imac i& 27inch decided upgrade. didn't want mac pro, decided switch windows after ten years away.
current system specs:
intel core i7-6700 4.00ghz
64gb ram
samsung 950pro pci-e ssd drive main
samsung 850 evo ssd secondary drive
geforce 960ti graphics card
initially, lightroom fast. "very fast" relative term. know lightroom terribly optimised, lightroom fast. recently, however, has gone being unusable. taking multiple seconds switch between photos, module loading absolute grind. don't spot healing, or brushing, or use of special features. use lightroom cataloguing, metadata, , exporting.
i'm commercial photographer, catalogues large, however, has 15700 images in it, installed few weeks ago.
for life of me, can't figure out why program incapable of running @ acceptable pace.
i've read through of posts on forum, , if possible, i'd avoid apologists telling me it's slow ridiculously obscure reason.
things know:
six weeks ago fast.
six weeks later, it's unusable.
happy share settings thinks can me
thanks
john
