Random problems with PDF-export: zero sized PDFs

dear forum,

i wrote script batch processes folders contain csv-files , images. reading information csv-files, creates documents templates, places images, enters text data , exports them pdf-files using exportfile method.

on rare occasions, results in 0 sized pdfs doesn’t open in acrobat; in 0 sized pdfs opens in acrobat objects missing.

i handled situation script: right after export checks size of pdf-file , if it’s below limit, writes error message log file on desktop user know problem , reprocess problematic files.

however, i’d polish up. ideas why happens , how solve it? script used in indesign cc 2015.4 on windows 10 enough free disk space , other resources.

i can offer not much.

 

just questions:
1. can make out mutual characteristics documents fail export?
placed adobe illustrator files come mind. ( had problems placed ai files , pdf export scripting in past. )

 

2. user while document exported?
clicking around in indesign because export not happen in background usual?

switching different app doing work there?

 

3. there web browser apps open while indesign exporting pdfs?
i read here in forums, browser plug-ins or extras influence indesign…
