Two-way SSL from an AIR iPad app

i have been developing app uses web service created party. service sits on vpn want move external server , use two-way ssl security instead. have set service on new server , set ssl authentication. have tested on https without need client certificate , works fine. have activated need client cert , unable work out how connect.

 

i have been provided client certificate self-signed 1 on server signed symantic - seems odd me have been assured certificates correct.

 

i have installed certificate on pc, onto flash builder using java keytool install certca , have installed onto ipad - in none of these places able access service.asmx file browser (i able before client requirement activated), sign wrong? or normal?

 

so trying app connect. have tried connecting (from locations) fails. have tried using securesocket class in code set connection fails io error (i using air 21 should fine on ios - issupported returns true).

 

i have been told c# has method finding certificate local store , adding httprequest , need find out how equivalent as3/air/flex. possible? have not been able find way.

 

any thoughts/input hugely appreciated. thank you.
