Grouping text layers in Lyrics Video?

hi, new after effects , awesome. have started doing intense lyric videos rock , metal music need way organize words parts of songs chorus, verse, etc. i've watched few videos precomping see groups them 1 layer, merging in photoshop not want. in main timeline can edit keys each single word. when precomp though in 1 comp , doesn't editable on main timeline. want few words grouped have ability still edit keys, movement, effects, etc. sorry if didn't explain enough. comfortable photoshop , if after effect had groups or folders amazing. thanks

     can jump precomp , edit animation there.
if need copy of same precomp, go in project panel, duplicate , drag timeline need it. second precomp independent first one.

you might find useful have audio reference track animation in precomps too.
