InDesign Pdf colors don't match the CMYK jpg in document


i created document in rgb in photoshopcs6, , converted jpg in duplicate copy of document cmyk image. brought indesigncs6 document , exported print pdf , colors paler original jpg.

 

i've looked through boards here , other online forums, nothing suggested working. i've tried different color profiles in both photoshop , indesign , nothing has worked. if has advice or in way appreciated (even if might have missed using color profiles). haven't had issue other pdfs before appreciated!

you don't "try" different profiles, make sure the correct one throughout , consistently. correct cmyk profile 1 corresponds actual printing process. printer should tell 1 use, , if don't have installed, download it. ask them!

 

don't use image > mode in photoshop. gives false impression there "generic" cmyk, there isn't. in fact profile conversion whatever have set working cmyk. default that's web coated swop, may not correct 1 use.

 

for images, work in rgb , place rgb in indesign. convert destination cmyk - correct 1 - when export press-ready pdf indesign. way document can repurposed changing press conditions.

 

you can use photoshop proof process cmyk. tell if there significant gamut clipping in conversion, , show clipping like. can decide whether need tweak original file compensate. not required, call improve appearance if seems worthwhile.
