Request for username and password when opening InDesign

two things happened when tried use indesign today (cs6, win10, been using version several years).

when indesign opens message windows security saying:

indesign.exe

the server www.automatication.com asking user name , password. server reports restricted.

warning: user name , password sent using basic authentication on connection isn't secure.

if think 'hmm, looks dodgy' , cancel, when go indesign can no longer click , drag on page.

other people have put posts latter problem, , suggested solution delete preferences.

i've done that, made no difference, can still move things using arrows, not cursor.

is message i'm getting adobe, or malicious.

it seems odd can't find mention anywhere of having same problem.

i may unusual, i'm sure i'm not unique.

i've received same message morning when opening cs6 in windows 7
