TOC tabs, paranums not showing, even with ref pages set up

changes i'm making in toc reference pages  (tabs, chapter numbers) aren't appearing when view body page. updating, because if change toc heading1 color changes on body page. know what's up?

 

i'm running fm 2015 , toc it's own document inside book. updating book (edit>update book... book in focus) or updating references (edit>update references... toc in focus) doesn't help.

check actual tab position occurs on body page. if falls outside text frame or column(s) used there, fm not use it.

 

note: use "\t" command, rather physical tab in generated entries, don't led astray visual presentation on reference page.
