How Much Space Should I Allocate to a Scratch Disk in Illustrator CC 2017?

i create vector art in illustrator, , link in photoshop add detailed shading, have them both running @ same time, uses lot of ram.

i running early-2014 11" macbook air. has 4gb of ram, 256gb of ssd (with 100 allocated bootcamp partition), intel hd graphics 5000, , 1.4 ghz intel core i5. 20 gb free on laptop's internal hard drive @ given time. have 2tb external usb 3.0 hard drive 800gb free reallocated.

 

 

if make partition on external  hard drive illustrator use scratch disk, reasonable size it?

and best make 1 combined scratch disk both photoshop , illustrator use @ same time or 1 per program?

 

here example of last thing made reference. (this after shaded in photoshop. basic coloring , line art done in illustrator.) might make larger scenes more characters , objects in future, though.

(ps college student not money. recommending expensive "worth it" new laptop or external ssd not help.)

i have 1 80gb partition scratch disk , use both illustrator , photoshop. 3x max photoshop file(s) size , illustrator not use if link images , save pdf compatible off.

 

updating 4gb or ram should not set , give return dollar. memory upgrade kits macbook pro 2012 , later - 8gb or 16gb

Adobe InDesign CC 2017 has stopped working

after installing indesign cc 2017 first time, when try launch application error "adobe indesign cc 2017 has stopped working" i have tried following: uninstalling , reinstalling indesign deleting files c:\users\<user>\appdata\roaming\adobe\indesign , c:\users\<user>\appdata\local\adobe\indesign i've uninstalled (i think) fonts had downloaded , installed restarted computer many times signed out of creative cloud , signed in   i able install , run on different computer i'm assuming there sort of conflict or missing component on computer.   computer details: processor intel core i7-4770k ram 16 gb os windows 10 pro ver. 1607 build: 14393.447 video card nvidia geforce gtx 970     this error windows event logs: faulting application name: indesign.exe, version: 12.0.0.81, time stamp: 0x57f545c7 faulting module name: appframework.rpln, version: 12.0.0.81, time stamp: 0x57f547eb exception code: 0xc0000005 fault offset: 0x000000000009fa88 faulting process id: 0xcac...

PDFMaker Office COM Addin will not stay enabled

windows 10 ent 64-bit, acrobat xi pro (11.0.18), office 2013. user reported loss of "save pdf" functionality in word. checked com addins , "adobe pdfmaker office com addin" unchecked. checked it, closed word, re-opened word, found unchecked again. ran word local administrator , box remained checked (or unchecked) across numerous changes in state & restarts. per numerous pages i've tried following:   applied latest updates & ran repair installs on office & acrobat confirmed hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\office\word\addins\pdfmaker.officeaddin loadbehavior set 3 checked file system permissions on pdfmaker directory. found them lacking added domain users read permission. run regsvr32 re-register relevant dll's removed & re-added com addin as noted, not issue if user local admin. thoughts on how enabled addin persist after closing word? thanks hi sherpa,   it seems loadbehaviour of addin has been altered in hkey_current_user hive , enab...
