Iridescent Sea Shell Texture

this call paua shell in nz, , known abalone in oz.  polished shells used lot in jewellery , sorts of decorative inlays.

 

 

i have used downloaded paua texture in project otherwise 100% photoshop down last pixel. , i'd keep way, short of building texture manually layer layer give me laminated effect. have not got there yet.

 

i have tried combinations of blend mode , opacity using multiple layers with:

 

render clouds , render fibers

eye candy 7's marble , noise textures

plastic wrap, , glowing edges

 

none of these has given me decent paua/abalone shell texture.  gut tells me have build layer layer, thought i'd try forum ideas.

i'll try bumping once.    ???
