Default Responsive Screen Resolutions

why default screen resolutions responsive design in captivate 9 not setup match relative screen dimensions default? realize can manually adjusted, trying understand why these defaults don't seem correlate actual devices.

 

for example, default tablet portrait dimensions 768x627, yet when adding additional landscape breakpoint, dimensions become 1024x627. these 2 dimensions not related. if landscape dimensions 1024x627, portrait dimensions should 627x1024.  why differences , why default dimensions not setup match actual tablet in first place? ipad retina display (for example) has resolution of 2048x1536 of course scales down 1024x768. why default tablet dimensions not setup 1024x768 (and 768x1024 respectively) begin with? trying understand why odd dimensions setup defaults in first place.

 

the same true of default mobile dimensions default 414x466 (portrait) , 667x410 (landscape). again, if landscape dimensions 667x410, portrait dimensions should match in reverse 410x667 (not 414x466). again, here default dimensions seem extremely low resolution of today's mobile devices.

 

i'm trying understand why screen resolution limitations conservative. highest screen resolution 1280 pixels wide? why captive 9 not allow resolutions account target audiences monitor resolutions of 1366x768 , higher? tablet resolutions don't seem make sense, ipad retina has screen resolution of 2048x1536. there reason these higher screen resolutions not supported in captivate , there plans introduce in future releases?

your assumption tablet screen resolution of 1024 x 768 produce resolution elearning along reciprocal aspect ratio , dimensions in portrait. not accounting number of pixels various browsers consume. 

for example, take @ these screen shots tablet using safari browser.

you think numbers same right? ah because browser controls , address bar gets moved 1 edge another, changes resolution , aspect ration.

the fact there no magic aspect ratio or resolution account vast majority of mobile devices , computers. recommend conduct technical needs analysis audience designing training for. example, if worked oceanic airlines , pilots used iphones , ipads, hands on sample of these devices , check browser resolution using site like http://howbigismybrowser.com/
