LR CC on my iMac won't import MP4 movies! Surely there is an answer...
i have spent hours/days trying find answer this...i used able import .mp4 movies time in lightroom , after upgrade (not sure version) quit. now, when try import video (like training kit-i not talking camera type) takes while , says: "some import operations not performed"....an unknown error has occurred while reading video file. connecting dynamic link server failed , lists number of videos not imported. moved folder , videos once had, there no more.... have tried replace "toolkit", didn't work. seems there lots of people same or similar question, no answer. have had issues new creative cloud telling me graphics card needs updated things can not performed. issue? have mp4 in lightroom. quicktime current, although did download older version possible solution, didn't work either. hoping has answer or major problem. running 21 inch imac late 2012, os x el capitan, version 10.11.6, processor 3.1 ghz intel core i7, 16 gb 1600 mz ddr3, graphics nvdia geforce gt 650m 512 mb. have photographers creative cloud....photoshop , lightroom. date. information. karen
this morning (sunday) did more research on topic , found had "quit" dynamic server link" in activity monitor. hesitantly decided give try. first closed lightroom , went activity monitor, clicked on dynamic server process @ top of list of "all processes" , did "quit" opened lightroom , imported "test video" folder , popped right up. continued synchronize other folders knew had videos in them , importing , without incident......finally......hope works others.
