Libraries on external drive

hello everybody,

 

in order keep small library online speed processing, use move yearly or so, photos internal drive external one.

that external library 200 go. , whenever turn on drive , lightroom up, takes hours load everything.

 

i thinking split huge library in small ones, , able decide wich library load or not in lightroom.

 

is there way achieve ?

i don't understand taking hours. step or function in lightroom or operating system talking about? whatever mean, there nothing in lightroom should take hours. doesn't sound right , sounds me there hardware problem.

this incredibly poor solution. better solution fix whatever taking long.
