.json files

i have been using photoshop elements 14 on year now. have noticed, along pictures have been saving/editing in program, there files created on hard drive extension of .json. have on 2,000 records extension adding memory/storage:

 

1.what these files?

2. necessary keep them?

here answer queries:

1)the jason files in catalog folder created elements organizer , store face analysis data of images.

2)if want keep using face analysis , automatic people recognition in elements organizer jason files should present. in case yu not intend use automatic facial recognition rather deleting files manually please open preferences in elements organizer(cmd+k/ ctrl+k) , select media analysis, uncheck "run face recognition automatically" , select reset face analysis.

deleting jasons delete existing people stacks eo. operation can't undone.
