Quick selection tool problem

i have problem quick selection tool.

i have used lot in past, i'm having hard time it.

 

even on pictures white background create jagged edges. if try fix jagged edges, edges fine before turn jagged edges. in totally different part of image.

 

i have tried resetting tool , photoshop prefences. nothing seems help. sample layers off. auto-enhance off.

i on macbook pro (retina, 15-inch, late 2013)

processor 2,3 ghz intel core i7

memory 16 gb 1600 mhz ddr3

graphics intel iris pro 1536 mb

 

can provide screen capture show problem can see photoshop ui , see resulting selection. posted 1 can not tell if used selection tool on white or dark color,  , can not tell selected. see crop of screen capture has part photoshop image window can not selected or not selected or how selection tool used.
