Any possibilities to measure time of a display refresh for performance reasons?

hi there!
is there js scripting possibility measure , report time of display refresh or typical illustrator operation zooming in , out?

i want figure out hardware , settings perform best on same files.

to knowledge (which admittedly narrower many around here) cannot done. js hijacks control of application until script finishes executing. can't running js script , interacting ui @ same time. ergo, can't simultaneously measure time js , perform ui manipulation zooming.

one way around limitation of js hijacking ui use script palette , everyone's favorite... bridgetalk. however, way understand it, script isn't being executed while palette open, it's in standby , need execute function via kind of event (like onclick()). don't believe set event fire when zoom in or out, means you'd have click kind of "start timer" button before zooming , "end timer" button when finished. i'm sure you're intending measure milliseconds, requirement of clicking start , stop automatically invalidate results.

if else has more informed answer know i'd love hear it. wasn't off base here. i'm speculating based on limited experience.
