Very slow printing booklets from InDesign

i'd print 28 page a5 black , white booklet directly indesign cc 27 inch imac retina 5k (os x sierra) network laser printer. file 7.5 mb prints slowly, spread @ time (although once data has arrived @ printer it's printed quickly, no delay when reverse side of spread automatically duplexed).

i've checked out network , that's speed. i've tried imac still running os x yosemite , that's equally slow.

i've tried printing on colour oki c531dn laser printer , hp laserjet 2055dn.

printing same sized booklet pc connected same network microsoft publisher file or pageplus file takes minute, indesign takes on ten minutes, possibly 30 minutes have leave finish. publisher running on imac in parallels desktop app, slow indesign. don't have pc version of indesign try.

smaller files indesign - instance blank booklet containing nothing page numbers - print instantly 7.5 mb document goes slo-mo after half document has been spooled printer.

it's customary print pdf that's been created indesign, means printer imposition.
