Printing Pure Cyan on Epson Printer
i trying print out design elements requires pure cyan lines/elements epson wf-7520 printer. however, though image element colors set 100% cyan (and file in cmyk) lines printing mixture of cyan, magenta, , black inks. frustrating because printer has separate cyan cartridge. though presume model printer more "business" class , considered rgb printer, using separate cmyk inks in hardware approximate rgb color model. hardware doesn't seem problem. seems problem in software.
all want print-out pure ink cyan cartridge. theoretically, seems attainable, yet have had difficult time finding way accomplish this.
i aware using different printer might remove difficulty entirely, unfortunately need solution work on printer.
i saw online suggestion save psd pdf , print through acrobat pro in order use it's native proofing , color separation features. not acrobat expert however, after saving pdf , opening in acrobat haven't found way accomplish goal settings available.
p.s. might work if whole image print in 1 ink color; color. instance might work if pure magenta.
inkjet printers use cmyk inks, expect fed rgb files. it's possible printer double conversion (cmyk rgb cmyk), may part of problem.
besides, cmyk profiles offset printing, , profile you're using not able produce saturated cyan. cmyk has smaller color gamut rgb, , inkjet printers have larger color gamut printing presses.
so should prepare file in rgb, 100% cyan equal r=0 g=255 b=255.
then use proper paper profile printer/paper combination. printing profiles should come printer, or can downloaded epson website.
in photoshop print dialog, set color handling photoshop manages colors, , choose correct print profile.
also disable printer color management in printer driver.
