Help with older imagesetter with Win7

i have agfa selectset avantra 25 imagesetter. connected windows 2000 machine via scsi. win2k machine our rip station. rip station networked. rip station communicates imagesetter perfectly. rip software (eaglerip) makes imagesetter available shared printer.

 

previously, had windows xp machine used work station. xp machine on network, , used imagestter on network. used print dialog illustrator or photoshop, , art output imagesetter.

 

the windows xp machine can't keep anymore. can see, machine put in when cs5 still current, , struggles that.

 

so got new machine. windows 7 64b, 32g of ram, nice little machine.

 

the trouble cannot add rip station's shared printer - imagesetter. new hardware naught if can't output art!

 

i have tried add printer wizard, local port, \\ripstation\sharedprinter, , else can find on internet, , these forums. believe trouble don't have driver. whomever preceded me apparently did not take trouble retain this. reading win7 being 64bit isn't helping either.

 

my question, then, this. there knows this, or thinks can me? seems ought able use rip station printing heavy lifting. win7 won't have it. need able use print dialog illustrator, et al, , leverage settings , configurations available therefrom.

there not can here. quite aware, agfa postscript-based product referring @ least 12 15 years old. current rips agra typically pdf direct, no postscript involved @ – directly submit pdf file (saved illustrator pdf/x-4 file) rip.

 

the problem windows, microsoft distributes drivers small subset of printer models printer / rip manufacturers. postscript printers, means installer associates printer's ppd file new instance of microsoft pscript5.dll printer driver possibly printer vendor customization plug-ins. adobe not distribute postscript drivers!

 

in particular situation, need contact agfa , see whether have driver installer compatible windows 7 x64. website united states @ agfa graphics us . doing search on website not yield results device or drivers same, provide contact information reach out agfa assistance directly them.
