Adobe Acrobat XI

i unable save pdf file i've made changes to. error "the document not saved. file may read-only, or user may have open. please save name."

i've downloaded recent update, did not solve problems.

there 2010 discussion on topic suggested looked in preferences under general check box enable (can't remember rest), don't have option.
